Task before the first class

So,

To whoever reads this post,

Hi. This is my post for the task that is to be completed before the first class of ARCH1101.

Part A: One of my best pieces of creative work before coming to this course

The piece of creative work in this image is a prototype for a solar cable car constructed for a team project of another course, the aesthetics of which were developed by me. This theme of this project is cuteness and vibrance, whereby the chassis of the prototype is personified as a cute character and the colour scheme is predominantly a pastel yellow with supporting glittery colours as to target those who enjoy cute characters.

Part B: An image of a great piece of architecture

This is an image of the Taipei 101 Building, which held the title of the world's tallest building from its time of completion in 2004. An interesting feature of this building which distinguishes its great resistance against seismic earth pressures amongst other buildings in Taiwan is the mass damper which is suspended internally within its higher floors; this feature serves the safety purpose of counteracting the building's movements during earthquakes or winds.

Part C: An original photograph of something beautiful

This image is a photo that I took during my visit to the Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour. It encapsulates an amazing full view of the lake in the garden contrasted against the buildings in the city. Under a cloudy sky and with the great buildings standing behind the immense greens of nature, the overwhelming beauty of the serene coexistence of nature and the built environment is witnessed. This is what I consider beautiful.

Following parts: Images from provided companies/designers

the_kyza (Khyzyl Saleem, @the_kyza on Instagram): attachment, defy, bold

Mountain & Moon (Audrey Allen and Ashton Cameron, https://www.mountainandmoon.com.au/): time, flowing, cruel

Trent Jansen Studio (https://trentjansen.com/): warmth, rooted, inextricable

End.
